Whether you wish to practice for a best man speech, being the glamorous host of a glitzy party or develop professional level public speaking skills to further your career, Spinnaker Speakers can help you.

As a member of Spinnaker Speakers you will have the opportunity to tread the path of self-development towards your goals and ultimately your life aspirations. It is the fundamental belief in human potential that brings us together to support each other and achieve the success that we desire for ourselves, our friends, families and communities.

Your first step is to attend one of our meetings and get a feel for the experience and see how we do things. You can find a description of our meetings here which should prepare you before you come so you know what to expect.

There is no charge for guest visits, it is an opportunity to experience a Toastmasters meeting and decide if you are ready to commit to your future growth. We ask that you are respectful to others and treat people how you would wish to be treated.

Our meetings follow a well defined structure which provides many opportunities for members to practice public speaking. The Regular Meetings page goes into detail on everything you need to know if you want to understand before you attend.

At the end of the meeting you will be asked if you would like to join and we’ll provide details of how to do that. Membership is just £11 per month which covers our 2 regular meetings each month (August and December have 1 meeting each).

From Jan 2026 we will be making an adjustment and trialling online meetings to give members experience in this format. We will be switching to 1 meeting in person per month and 1 online for 6 months. After 6 months we will seek feedback and decide whether to continue in this way.
